Backcountry Sportsman was born from a lifetime of outdoor adventures. We grew up in the mountains of Appalachia, where we spent our days canoeing, hiking, camping, and exploring the rugged mountain terrain. Those early experiences instilled in us a deep appreciation for quality outdoor gear and the freedom that comes from exploring nature.

Life eventually brought us to the beautiful coast of the Carolinas, where we discovered a whole new world of outdoor adventure. Here in South Carolina, we canoe the rivers and marshes, kayak the coastal waterways, fish the abundant waters, and continue to enjoy the great outdoors in new ways. We still make regular trips back to the mountains for camping and hiking, keeping that connection to our roots alive.
